Hotels and Motels are available in every city and most towns. The highest concentrations of full-service hotels are in Billings, Missoula, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Kalispell.

Bed & Breakfasts and Historic Inns are most plentiful in Helena, Butte, Missoula, and Livingston — towns with significant Victorian-era architecture and heritage tourism.

Cabins and Vacation Rentals are the dominant lodging type near Glacier National Park (Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Bigfork), Yellowstone (West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Livingston), and the Bitterroot Valley (Hamilton, Darby).

Guest Ranches and Glamping are concentrated in the Bitterroot Valley, Rock Creek corridor, and the Paradise Valley south of Livingston. The Ranch at Rock Creek near Philipsburg and Triple Creek Ranch near Darby are the most decorated properties in the state.
