Discovery Ski Area, located above the historic mining town of Philipsburg, transforms into a dedicated downhill bike park in the summer. It is a smaller, more intimate park than Big Sky or Whitefish, but the trail building is exceptional.
The park features 14 dedicated downhill trails, ranging from smooth, flowing jump lines to steep, technical, rock-strewn chutes. The dirt here is excellent, and the park is known for its well-maintained berms and creative features. It is a perfect destination for riders looking to push their downhill skills without the massive crowds of larger resorts. A lift ticket is required for access.
Must-Ride Trail: Desperado is a short, fast, sub-mile descent that drops nearly 600 feet, packed with technical features and steep pitches.
