Harlowton sits in the Upper Musselshell River country between the Snowy and Crazy Mountains. The Upper Musselshell Museum features fossils from both the Judith River and Hell Creek formations. The centerpiece is "Ava," an Avaceratops lammersi discovered by Eddie Cole north of town.
Visitor Access
Admission is five dollars for adults, but discounted to two dollars and fifty cents if you show your Montana Dinosaur Trail passport. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from Memorial Day through the summer. The museum also displays T. rex leg bones and other local fossils, preserving the deep history of a landscape that has been eroding for millions of years.
