Jordan, Montana

Jordan is surrounded by deep river canyons and badlands, a semi-arid landscape shaped by ancient seabeds. In 1902, Barnum Brown discovered the world's first identified Tyrannosaurus rex near here in the Hell Creek Formation. The Garfield County Museum displays a full T. rex skull, a full-size Triceratops cast, and a replica of the famous "Dueling Dinosaurs."

Visitor Access

The museum operates primarily in the summer, open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is free, though donations are accepted. While the museum itself does not host public digs, it serves as the historical anchor for anyone exploring the rugged, fossil-rich terrain of Garfield County.
