Roundup is nestled in a valley near the Musselshell River and the Bull Mountains, an area of grassy hills and ponderosa pine. The museum features the "Sir William" skull replica, the first Tetraphoneus found in Montana. The nearby "Ingomar Oasis" site yielded "Aimee" the Triceratops and a rare Ankylosaurus skull.
Visitor Access
The museum is free to enter and open daily from May through September. It features interactive dioramas and a strong focus on local pioneer history alongside the paleontology. The museum occasionally coordinates with local paleontologists like Eric Eliasson and Bill Stein to offer public dig opportunities in the rich Late Cretaceous beds surrounding the town.
