Malta, Montana

Sitting right next door to the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum in Malta, the Phillips County Museum sits on the high plains, an area that was once a shallow inland sea. The museum features "Elvis," a thirty-three-foot-long Brachylophosaurus recognized as one of the best articulated skeletons ever discovered.

Visitor Access

The museum is open Monday through Saturday from April through December. It displays an Albertosaurus, a massive Apatosaurus femur, and various marine fossils from the Judith River Formation. While this specific museum does not run its own dig program, visitors can simply walk next door to the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum to sign up for field excavations.
