Visitor Access
- Nearest town: Missoula
- Difficulty: Flatwater/Intermediate. While generally calm, the river is considered dangerous due to constantly changing channels, sweepers, and logjams. Not suitable for inexperienced paddlers without guidance.
- Season: Late Spring to Early Fall. Spring runoff can make the river swift and challenging. Late summer and early fall offer lower water levels.
- Mileage: 13 miles
- Permits & fees: No permit is required for the general recreating public for this section. Commercial outfitters may require permits for other sections of the Bitterroot River.
- Hazards: The river course is always changing with sudden, new, and unavoidable obstacles. Full of sweepers and logjams. Submerged logs and debris are common. Paddlers should be alert and avoid leashes due to wood hazards. Be prepared for sudden weather changes.

- Camping: Dispersed camping is available in the Lolo and Bitterroot National Forests. River Point Lolo Campground and Lolo Creek Campground are also nearby.
