Georgetown Lake Area

While the Discovery Bike Park offers lift-served downhill riding in this area, the backcountry riding surrounding Georgetown Lake and the approaches to the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness is a completely different beast.

The trails here are steep, technical, and heavily forested. Riders can pedal right up to the Wilderness boundary (where bikes must be turned around), enjoying pristine alpine lakes and jagged granite peaks. The climbs are punishing, often requiring hike-a-bike sections, but the descents are fast and challenging. This is a favorite area for strong local riders looking to escape the bike park crowds.

Must-Ride Trail: The trails accessing Storm Lake and Twin Lakes offer brutal climbs rewarded by spectacular alpine scenery right on the edge of the Wilderness boundary.
