Editorial Policy
Treasure State publishes practical Montana travel, town, and relocation guidance. We aim for clear, useful information and distinguish editorial guidance from paid or affiliate relationships.
Standards and sourcing
Factual claims are checked against primary and named public sources whenever possible. Depending on the topic, that may include U.S. Census Bureau products, federal and Montana state agency releases, official municipal or county publications, published scientific or historical references, and other documented provider datasets. Rankings and quantitative pages state their methodology and scoring inputs. We do not present estimates, rankings, or seasonal conditions as guarantees.
Data refresh
Data-backed pages are refreshed as source data and collection workflows allow. A page’s data vintage or freshness note identifies the collection or release period when available. Conditions such as housing inventory, services, road access, weather, and events can change quickly; readers should verify consequential decisions with primary local sources.
Affiliate disclosure
Some pages contain affiliate links. If a reader makes a qualifying purchase through one of those links, Treasure State may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate relationships do not determine factual claims or rankings. See our About page and Privacy Policy for broader disclosures.
Relocation introductions
When consultation introductions are offered, we name the receiving partner in the consent language before any sharing occurs. You can request a Town Match shortlist without opting into marketing email. Public shortlist and consultation forms use a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) before we process submissions. See our corrections process to flag an error.
Editorial independence
We do not sell favorable placement in editorial rankings. Sponsored or partner material should be clearly identified.
