The largest climbing area in northwest Montana, boasting over five hundred established routes. The rock is a hard, featured quartzite, offering a mix of sport and traditional climbing. The area is situated above Lake Koocanusa, providing spectacular views and a remote, wilderness feel.
The Northwest Montana Climbers Coalition (nwmtcc.org) is the local stewardship and advocacy organization. The area was considered sacred by the Kootenai and Salish Native Americans, with many pictographs in the area.
