Ice climbing in Glacier is a serious alpine undertaking. The routes are immense, remote, and often require long approaches on skis through avalanche terrain. The climbing is less about technical difficulty and more about the logistics of survival in a hostile winter environment.
Big Horn Sheep Closures in Logan Pass area (Reynolds Creek, Oberland, Clements Mountain) to off-trail travel for protection of revegetation and bighorn sheep/mountain goat habitat. Not recommended for most technical climbers due to questionable rock quality and long, arduous approaches. Advanced climbers only.
